It is well acknowledged that undertaking an apprenticeship is a fantastic way to embark on a new career. This is clearly understandable, as it offers training and on-the-job practical experience, whilst receiving a secure income.

Starting an apprenticeship with SAS has been one of the greatest decisions I have made. From the first moment I stepped foot into the SAS office, the team have been welcoming and supportive, creating a relaxed and friendly environment. Looking around the office, it is clear to see the strong bond between each and every team member.

Not long after beginning my role with SAS, I was given the opportunity to take on responsibilities for a range of clients. Although daunting at first, it as enabled me to gain hands-on experience in my role and become familiar with my tasks and clients needs. Every day presents different challenges to overcome, meaning that it is never boring and there is always something to do or learn! The team are always on-hand to offer support and training, with all members having valuable knowledge and skills to share. No question is ever too big or small!

SAS also encourages study, learning and growth, therefore providing time out of work for you to study towards your professional qualifications. This will involve undertaking classes with BPP, who are one of the leading training providers, giving the base knowledge required for a successful career within the accounting industry.

After only a month of being at SAS, there have been many opportunities and benefits, such as:

I am excited to see what the future holds for me within SAS. I look forward to more opportunities to learn from my experienced colleges, develop in my job role and responsibilities, and gain professional certifications under their guidance and support.

I chose the apprenticeship route as I knew it would give me the opportunity to study alongside gaining work experience. I thought that getting into the industry at such a young age would be great as there would always be an opportunity to learn and build my career.

Within my apprenticeship I liked the way you had a study day allocated each week, this would help me focus directly on my study and exams.

Completing an apprenticeship helped me grow within SAS Micro and outside of work with my qualifications, being AATQB qualified has opened up lots of opportunities and has allowed me to take that next step towards completing the MAAT qualification.
